Mark Pruitt, FNP, grew up in a small rural town in the Appalachian region of Virginia. As a kid, Mark suffered from severe allergies and asthma, until his local pediatrician tested him for allergies and began treating him with immunotherapy. Before treatment, Mark remembers being unable to go out on the porch on warm summer nights without having an asthma attack. After a period of allergy shots, Mark was able to begin participating in activities he couldn’t dream of before, from running track to playing basketball, to experiencing summer outside. Mark still credits immunotherapy for having the biggest influence on his life. Today, Mark enjoys kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and being in the mountains, which is why he and his family moved to Hood River in 2009. Prior to establishing Remote Allergy Providers, Mark worked for a large allergy practice in Tennessee, as well as with an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Group in The Dalles. As a lifelong patient, Mark is continually driven to educate and treat his own patients so that they too can lead happier, healthier, and more active lives.
