Growing up in a rural area in Virginia had its challenges as as a kid suffering from asthma and allergies. I remember vividly the fear as a child sitting on the kitchen floor wondering how I was going to muster the energy to take another breath. I remember the terrible nasal symptoms and itchy eyes that plagued me most of the year and overwhelming fatigue. I remember missing over 30 days of school due to being sick from respiratory illnesses and the restrictive food diets. There were no specialists around the area but luckily a pediatrician there learned how to perform allergy testing and allergy shots. Within mere months after starting treatment as a young teen, my life changed forever and inspired the passion I have today to help those with allergy and asthma symptoms. Growing up in a rural area also taught me the importance that treatment should not be reserved for those only living near a metropolitan area. Thats where the idea was born to develop a clinical system that could help reach out into the areas that no help is traditionally found.
